Upgrade live jobs

You can upgrade live jobs that are not complete or terminated to the latest released version of the job process map. This feature lets an organization make changes to live jobs without terminating or restarting them. The changes go into effect immediately.

In the TotalAgility Workspace, directly update a job to use the latest version of the map without creating a new job.

Note Upgrading a job adds new items such as variables, floating roles, work type fields and milestones to the selected jobs. The upgrade does not overwrite or delete any existing job data.

Upgrading a job does not upgrade pending activities in the job. For upgrading the pending activities, restart the pending activity nodes in the upgraded job. For pending embedded processes, use "Restart Next" on the activity node before the embedded process activity node.

When you have multiple versions of a map, upgrade only those jobs created on the selected versions of a map.

Using filters, you can upgrade jobs created before or after a specific date, or created within a date range. If you do not specify a date, all jobs are updated.

  1. On the Administration menu, click Job Upgrader.
  2. On the Category list, select a category.
  3. On the Process list, select the process map with jobs to update.

The type and the latest version of the map appear in the respective boxes.

  4. To update only the jobs created on a particular version of the selected map, on the Version list, select the version to update.
  5. To update only the jobs started after a particular date, in the From box, select a date.
  6. To update only the jobs started before a particular date, in the To box, select a date.
  7. To update jobs within a specific time period, select dates in the From and To boxes.
  8. Click Start.

A message informs you about the implications of upgrading.

  9. Click Yes to continue the upgrade.

All the selected jobs are updated, and use the latest version of the map. The system displays a message indicating that the process has started and the results will be available in the audit log. The audit log includes the entries for the following details:

    • The start of job upgrader, including details such as process, version, start date and end date.
    • The success or failure of each job that was upgraded, including main details such as job id, process, version, start date and end date.
    • The end of job upgrader.
