Synchronize a project with a batch class

After a project is set up and saved using Project Builder, a batch class is created in the Kofax Capture Administration module, and Server is added to the batch classes queues, you are ready to synchronize the project with Kofax Capture.

The Synchronization Tool is essentially a wizard that guides you through the synchronization process.

You can open Synchronization Tool from the shortcut menu of any batch class that includes Server.

If this is the first time you have synchronized this batch class, the Open window is displayed, so you can select a project file (*.fpr). Subsequently, the assigned project is automatically loaded each time you open the Synchronization Tool.

If synchronization is already performed, the current synchronization definitions are shown so that you can change them if necessary. Remember that you have to republish to pass the changes to Kofax Capture.

If synchronization is already performed for a batch class, but for some reason the assigned project file cannot be loaded, you can choose to reload the project or open the window without any project loaded.

The following synchronization steps need to be performed. Detailed procedures for each step follow in later sections.

  1. From the Administration module Definitions pane, select the Batch tab.
  2. Right-click a batch class that includes Server, and then click Synchronize Kofax Transformation Project on the shortcut menu to open Synchronization Tool.
  3. Assign classes to Kofax Capture form types.
  4. For each document class, optionally assign the available Kofax Transformation Modules fields to Kofax Capture index fields and define display fields for validation.
  5. Assign folders to Kofax Capture folder classes.
  6. Assign folder fields to Kofax Capture folder fields and define display fields for Validation.
  7. Start the synchronization step that stores the settings to the Kofax Capture database.
