Assign hierarchical class trees

Kofax Transformation Modules supports class hierarchies. Often the hierarchy reflects the organizational rules of a company or is used to improve classification. Since Kofax Capture does not support such hierarchies, the project tree has to be mapped to a flat list of document classes and form types.

Note While it is possible to pass the classification result to Kofax Capture by assigning it to the specific form type assiciated with that class, it is not mandatory. It is also possible to assign all classes to a common form type and tehn sotre teh classification result in an index field. This latter case is especially useful if there are many sub-classes, and all of these sub-classes have the same extraction fields. A typical example is an invoice project with hundreds of vendors. In this case, the vendor ID or vendor name should be passed as an index field value.

Hierarchical trees can be assigned manually class by class or automatically, if a parent class is selected.

  • When you use Create a Document Class and a Form Type for each selected class for a class that contains child classes, a warning is displayed.

If you click Yes, a separate and unique document class and form type are created for each class in the tree below the selected class. Click No to create a document class and form type only for the selected class, child classes stay unchanged.
