Change the bar code type

If the default bar code type is not detecting your bar code in a consistent manner, you can change the bar code type so it looks for one or more specific types.

If you do not know your bar code type, use the Auto detect mode.

You can change the bar code type for your Bar Code Locator by following these steps:

  1. Open the locator properties.
  2. On the General tab, clear the Auto detect setting.

    The other bar code types are now available for selection.

  3. Select one or more bar code types to use.
  4. Optionally, modify the other bar code settings such as orientation and length.
  5. Open a test document and click Test to test your settings.
  6. Optionally, click Close to close the locator properties window.
  7. Save the changes to your project.
