A2iA recognition engine

This recognition engine has two distinct parts.

  1. Cursive Page Recognition (DocumentReader).

This functionality is now deprecated and no longer supported, nor is it available as an Add-On installation option in this version of Kofax TotalAgility. As a result, if you open a project that was created in a version of Kofax TotalAgility earlier than 7.9.0, a project warning message is displayed indicating that the A2iA DocumentReader engine is no longer available. In addition, if you project has one or more Cursive (A2iA DR 9.1) page profiles, an additional message explains that these are automatically converted to an OmniPage page profile with default settings.

Review the new OmniPage page profiles and adjust them for your requirements.

  2. Check and Cursive Recognition (FieldReader and CheckReader).

This engine is no longer supported in Kofax TotalAgility 7.9.0 and no further fixes or improvements will be made. If you already have a project that was created in an earlier version of Kofax TotalAgility, you can continue to use the A2iA recognition engine and any A2iA zone locators at your own risk, assuming the corresponding license is available.

When you open a project from a previous version that includes one or more A2iA Zone Locator, a warning message indicates that the A2iA Zone Locator is deprecated. When you select an A2iA Zone Locator in the Project Tree, a message is displayed in the Details pane for that locator indicating that the A2iA Zone Locator is deprecated and that you can migrate the locator. Click Migrate to convert a A2iA Zone Locator. Repeat this for all classes where an A2iA Zone Locator is located.

Depending on how the A2iA recognition engine is used, migrating an existing A2iA Zone Locator is performed in one of the following ways:

    1. If an A2iA Zone Locator is configured to use the CheckReader functionality, then it is migrated to a Check Locator.

    2. If an A2iA Zone Locator is configured to use the FieldReader functionality, it is migrated to an Advanced Zone Locator that uses the FormXtra recognition engine . If a single A2iA Zone Locator has multiple zones then multiple FormXtra zone profiles are created, one for each zone. This enables you to configure unique settings for each zone.

The A2iA Zone Locator and the Check and Cursive Recognition engine remain for reference purposes only and are not meant for use in production.
