Train document separation

When configuring classification or separation, it is necessary to train your project using sample documents that represent the documents you will process. If online learning for document separation and classification is enabled, it is possible to skip this manual training step and collect document during production. However, a combination of the two methods means that known documents are separated correctly based on manual training from the start, and any new or unknown layouts are trained, improving document separation and classification over time.

Add documents to the Classification Set and use the training set to train your project for both classification and separation by following these steps:

  1. In the main Transformation Designer window, hide or close any windows that block the Ribbon.
  2. Open the Documents window if it is not already open.
  3. Optionally, add additional separation training documents to the Classification Set.
  4. On the Process tab, in the Train group, click Separation & Classification.

    The documents in your Classification Set are trained and you may now test your separation settings.

  5. Save the changes to your project.
