Configure Standard Document Separation

Before configuring standard document separation, configure classification. Once you have configured classification, you can configure standard document separation by following these steps:

  1. On the Project tab, in the Configuration group, select Project Settings Project Settings icon.
  2. Click the Document Separation tab to view the document separation settings.
  3. Click the Document Separation tab.
  4. Select Standard Document Separation.

    Several additional settings are enabled.

  5. Optionally, if you are scanning double-sided documents, select Duplex scan mode (front and back side will never be split).
  6. Optionally, select a value for Unclassified pages should be handled as.
  7. On the Project tab, in the Configuration group, select Project Settings Project Settings icon.
  8. Open the Project Tree window if it is not already open.
  9. Open the Details window if it is not already open.
  10. For each class, configure Standard Document Separation settings in the Details window.
  11. Open the Documents window if it is not already open.
  12. Add training documents to the Classification Set for each class in your project.
  13. Confirmed the training documents in your Classification Set.
  14. Train and test your separation settings.
  15. Optionally, enable online learning for document separation.

    Any documents that are not recognized based on your training documents require manual separation and classification during production. Those documents are then collected and the next time a document with that layout is encountered it is separated and classified successfully.

  16. Save the changes to your project.
