Properties of Percentage Formatting window

The Percentage Formatter has similar settings to the Amount Formatter, but it uses different interpretation rules. It is used to unify percentage formats, and returns errors and warnings when the interpretation rules are not satisfied. It also tries to correct minor recognition errors automatically using the following settings:

Decimal symbol

Select the character to be used for the decimal symbol. The value for this setting is set to <system default> by default. This means that the decimal symbol is determined by the operating system of the local computer.

Number of symbols after decimal

Select a number between 0 and 4 that defines how many decimal places are used. The value for this setting is set to 2 by default.

Allow empty field

Select this setting to allow an empty field to be valid. If this setting is not selected, and a field is empty, it is marked as invalid.

This setting is cleared by default.

Testing

To test the settings, enter some sample input text and click Format. The sample text is formatted per the settings and displayed in the output field. If the sample cannot be formatted per the settings, a warning or error message is displayed.
