Export to Word or Excel and recreate a modified PDF

You can export an entire PDF document to an editable format, modify the document in the target application and create a new PDF.

  1. Go to the File menu and select Save As.
  2. In the Save As dialog box, select the target file type (see below).
  3. Enter a file name and location.

    When converting to editable file types, a progress monitor appears.

    The file appears in the target application.

  4. Save the file under a different name, then make the desired changes in the target application.
  5. Create a PDF document using File > Print or the Create PDF tool in a Kofax PDF tab.

  • Target applications: The program offers a range of editable file types (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .wpd,. txt) and image file types (.tif, .jpeg, .png and more). It also offers .xps and different types of PDF documents, including PDF/A.

  • Save a page selection for editing: Make a copy of the original PDF, open the Pages panel and delete unneeded pages from the copy and save the file as the desired file type.

  • Recreate the PDF: When resaving to PDF, a page selection can be made. The Kofax tab is available only if the integration of Power PDF with the application has been installed. This method provides more features, such as Microsoft Word bookmarks, comments, links and tag transfer.
