Keyboard shortcuts by functional areas

This section lists the keyboard shortcuts by function groups.

Application keyboard shortcuts

Shortcut Command
F1 Opens the Help system at a topic relevant to the current screen area or dialog box.
Shift+Ctrl+H Opens the About Kofax Power PDF dialog box.
Ctrl+Q Quits application.
Alt+F4 Quits application.

User interface keyboard shortcuts

Shortcut Command
Esc Switches to the Hand tool.
F9 Hides/shows both the tab bar and ribbon area.
Ctrl+F1 Hides/shows the ribbon area.
Shift+F10 The equivalent of a right mouse click, shows the shortcut menu of the object in focus.
Ctrl+R Toggles displaying rulers.
Ctrl+U Toggles displaying gridlines.
Shift+Ctrl+U Toggles snap to grid mode that aligns objects to grid when object is moved.

Document keyboard shortcuts

Shortcut Command
Ctrl+N Creates new blank document in Advanced Editor.
Ctrl+Tab Moves to the next opened document in tabbed view.
Shift+Ctrl+Tab Moves to the previous opened document in tabbed view.
Ctrl+O Opens the Open dialog box.
Ctrl+S Saves document.
Shift+Ctrl+S Opens the Save as dialog box.
Ctrl+F4, Ctrl+W Closes the active document.
Shift+Ctrl+W Closes all documents.
Ctrl+P Prints the active document.
Ctrl+D Opens document properties.
Ctrl+K Opens the Options dialog box.
Ctrl+F Opens the Search panel.
Shift+Ctrl+F Opens the Search floating window for fuzzy, pattern, and multiple document search.
F7 Opens the Check Spelling dialog box. Spell checking works only on comments.

Operations keyboard shortcuts

Shortcut Command
Delete Deletes the selected object or the character right to the cursor.
Ctrl+Y Redoes last operation that can be redone.
Ctrl+X Cuts selected item to clipboard.
Ctrl+C Copies the selected item to the clipboard.
Ctrl+V Pastes item from clipboard.
Ctrl+Z Undo
Ctrl+A With the Hand or Select tool, it selects all text in the document (or the current page if single page viewing is set).1
Shift+Ctrl+A Deselects all text or objects in the document.

Zoom keyboard shortcuts

Shortcut Command
Ctrl+M Opens the Zoom to dialog box.
Ctrl+1 Zooms to actual size.
Ctrl+2 Zooms to page width.
Ctrl+3 Zooms to fit visible.
Ctrl+4 Zooms to page height.
Ctrl+0 Zooms to fit page.
Ctrl+- Zooms out.
Ctrl++ Zooms in.
Ctrl+L Toggles between full screen and previous zoom value.
Ctrl+Alt+P Zooms to fit the page and keeps showing one page at a time.
Ctrl+Alt+W Zooms to page width and scrolls pages continuously.

Page navigation keyboard shortcuts

Shortcut Command
PageDown Moves half a page down.
PageUp Moves half a page up.
Ctrl+Page Down Scrolls to top of next page.
Ctrl+Page Up Scrolls to top of previous page.
Home or Ctrl+Home Goes to first page.
End or Ctrl+End Goes to last page.
Alt+Left arrow Goes to previous view.
Alt+Right arrow Goes to the next view.
Shift+Ctrl+J Arranges the opened documents into cascade windows.
Shift+Ctrl+K Arranges the opened documents into windows tiled horizontally.
Shift+Ctrl+L Arranges the opened documents into windows tiled vertically.

Page dialog keyboard shortcuts

Shortcut Command
Shift+Ctrl+I Opens the Open, then the Insert Pages dialog boxes.
Shift+Ctrl+C Opens the Crop Pages dialog box (Edit tab).
Shift+Ctrl+D Opens the Delete Pages dialog box.
Shift+Ctrl+X Opens the Extract Pages dialog box.
Shift+Ctrl+R Opens the Rotate Pages dialog box.
Shift+Ctrl+P Opens the Open, then the Replace Pages dialog boxes.
Shift+Ctrl+N Opens the New Pages dialog box.

Bookmark keyboard shortcuts

Shortcut Command
Ctrl+B Creates a bookmark each time the key is pressed.
Ctrl+I On the Bookmarks panel, displays the Bookmark Properties dialog box.

JavaScript keyboard shortcut

Ctrl+J Opens the JavaScript Console dialog box.

Shortcut Command
Shift+Ctrl+B Reads text content to a file.
Shift+Ctrl+G Reads text content from the current page. A floating toolbar is displayed with tools to control reading.
Shift+Ctrl+O Reads text content to the end of the document. A floating toolbar is displayed with tools to control reading.

Shift+Ctrl+Space Pauses / continues reading.
