Output Options

This dialog box appears when you click Mark selected results for redaction when running search and redact on a PDF portfolio or PDF files in a folder. It offers the following options:

  • Destination Folder: Select the folder where to save the redacted documents:

    • Use original PDF source folder: Saves the redacted documents into the same folder where they currently reside.

    • Select local folder: Click Browse to save to another folder.

    • Don’t save changes: Redacted files remain open in the application without saving.

  • File Name: Specify file naming options:
    • Preserve original file names: The output document names are identical to the originals.
    • Append original file names: Select this option to add a suffix and prefix to the file name.
    • Overwrite existing files: Select this check box to overwrite files that already exist in the selected folder with the same name.

      Important: If the output document names are identical to the originals and the original folder is specified, then Power PDF overwrites the source documents. As a result, you may lose the redacted information permanently. Redaction cannot be undone once it is applied. To avoid mistakes, we strongly advise you to back up the original PDF files before you perform redaction; or save them with a different name and/or location.

  • Output Format: Select Apply redaction to permanently redact all marks as you click OK.
