View and edit projects

You can edit the connection for a project for the cases when the server name, database name, or credentials change.

  1. In Admin Console, click Projects.
  2. Click the name of the project.

A window with the basic data source information appears.

  3. View connection information, or click Change to edit connection.
  4. Use the System Option pane to provide the root directory for keeping all files that you download via Insight. You can define either a relative or an absolute path. The relative path is combined with the Insight base file root directory which is defined during installation or manually in the Web.config file located at Program Files\Kofax\Insight 6.X.X\WcfDataService. See the Kofax Insight Installation Guide.
By default, this folder has no access limitations and stores the temporary data in the following sub-folders.
    • Import: Import a project from Studio.

    • Process: Import a process.

    • GeoShape: Import shapes.

    • ParserTest: Run manual job.

If the user is allowed to upload files, this directory should have permissions for the Insight pool user to save, read, and delete. A pool user is an Application Pool user for Insight. If you do not need to upload files, give permissions only for reading and give access rights for selected files in the roles. In this case, you need to put all required files manually.

If uploading a file from the Viewer is allowed, but you do not need uploading other items (such as Import, GeoShapes, and more), create the ViewerFiles sub-category manually and give permissions only for this folder.

  5. On the Actions toolbar, click Save.
Note Switch between projects by selecting Documents Tree > Projects> Project name.
