Connect to an external database

Use the Connections window to establish a connection between Insight and an external database.

  1. In Admin Console, on the Documents Tree, right-click Connections and click New Connection.

    The New Shared DB window appears.

  2. Enter a name for the new shared database and click OK.

    The Connection Option window appears.

  3. Enter database information such as Database type, Server Name, Provider Name, and Database Name.
  4. Optionally, on the Property Panel, select Additional string to define additional parameters for a connection string.
  5. Enter the User Name and Password, or select Windows Authentication.
  6. On the toolbar, click Save.
