Import a solution

Use this option to import a project solution file for a Kofax Analytics product. A solution is a project file that consists of administration and project settings (XML file) that are compressed into a single ZIP file. You can import the solution into a project, or use it to create a new project.

Note The option to import an Analytics solution is also available from the Windows Start menu, or from the Kofax Insight Installation Manager.

  1. Navigate to Admin Console > Tools, and click Import solution.

    The Import a Kofax Analytics Solution wizard appears.

  2. Click the ellipsis button next to the Select a Kofax Analytics Solution .zip file entry field.
    1. On the Open file dialog box, select the option that corresponds to the current solution file location (client computer or server), and click OK.
    2. Do one of the following to select the solution .zip file:

      • On the Choose File to Upload dialog box, navigate to the solution file location on the client computer, select the file, and click Open.

      • On the Select File list, select the solution file to import from the server, and click OK.

    Important Do not extract the contents of the .zip file.

  3. Select one of the following options, and click Next:
    • Create new project: Use this option to import the solution file into a new project.

    • Update the existing project: Use this option to import the solution file into an existing project, which you select from the list on the wizard screen.

  4. If you selected to update an existing project in the previous step, skip this step. If you selected to create a new project in the previous step, do the following on the Create new project wizard screen:
    1. Name: Assign a name to the new project.
    2. Meta and Data connection settings: Set the parameters for connecting to the Meta and Data databases.
    3. To specify additional connection strings, click Advanced.
    4. Click Next.
    5. When prompted to confirm the data import, click Yes.

      An indicator appears while the import is in progress.

  5. When notified that the import is completed successfully, select one of the following:
    • Click Open Admin Console to proceed to the Admin Console.

    • Click Open Data Loader to proceed to the Data Loader to schedule data execution plans.
