Configure Insight to use Windows authentication

To enable Active Directory authentication, see the Kofax Insight Installation guide and follow the steps below to configure Insight to use Windows authentication for each desired Insight application: Views (to view the dashboards), Admin Console, Studio, Data Loader, or Themes and Formats.

  1. In Admin Console, on the Documents Tree click Authentication.
  2. In the main panel, select the required application from the drop-down list.
  3. For User properties are obtained from the environment, select Windows.
    Note Selecting Windows changes the authentication type of the web application in the corresponding Web.config file next time the user launches the application. If Windows authentication is not properly defined, the user maybe locked out from the application. For this case, check the section "Recover from a Lockout" in the Kofax Insight Installation Guide.
  4. Select either External database to use your custom database and perform queries to map the user role, or select Fixed values to compare Active Directory session values to map the user role. "Fixed values" is a more common option.
  5. Save the changes.
