Discovering devices on the network

  1. On the Navigation panel, click Devices.
  2. Select the Discovered Devices tab.
    A list of devices previously discovered on the network appears. (This list does not contain devices that are already added and managed by the server.) To make sure that you have an updated list of discovered devices, click Refresh. Not all of the discovered devices may be supported devices. The list may include printers and other devices not supported by Kofax Front Office Server.

    Device discovery relies on Apple's Bonjour service. Bonjour uses UDP messaging and, depending on how the routers on your network are configured, Bonjour packets may not be forwarded across your networks. If you experience problems with device discovery, please make sure that UDP is enabled on your routers.

  3. Select the devices you want to add and register with the server. To add all the devices, select the check box at the top of the left column.
  4. Click Add.

    The devices appear on the available devices list.
