Configuring email for notifications

Set up Kofax Front Office Server to specify the email server for sending notifications.

Before you begin, do the following:

  • Get information about the SMTP server used for outgoing email, including the server host name or IP address, port number, and whether it uses TLS for secure connections.

  • Select a user account to be used for authentication.

  • Select a user account to be used as the "from" account for notification emails. Consider creating a separate user account instead of using someone's personal account.

  • Select a string to be used for the API key. This key, which is automatically generated, helps prevent unauthorized users from sending emails.

  1. On the Navigation panel, select Notifications.
  2. Click the Notification Settings tab.
  3. Complete the information about the email server and enter the string for the API key. If you want to select a different API key, remove the existing entry; a replacement key is generated automatically when you save the settings.
  4. Click Save.

Testing the email configuration

Verify that your email configuration works correctly by sending a test message.

  1. On the toolbar, click Test.

The Send test email window appears.

  2. In the To field, enter an email address where the test message should be sent, and click OK.

If the test is successful, the recipient receives the test email. If not, check KFS.log for errors.
