Devices - Device VRS Settings Mapping tab

If you use .ini files to configure image settings for specific MFP models in previous versions of Kofax Front Office Server, use this tab to continue to use these files. The Device VRS Settings Mapping tab maps the names of the vendor and model names to .ini files that use this naming convention:

<vendor>_<model>.ini

Where <vendor> in the vendor name and <model> is the model of the MFP.

If the .ini file is matched, the settings from the file are passed to VRS for image processing. If an exact match is not found, Kofax Front Office Server does the following:

• If the vendor name cannot be matched, Kofax Front Office Server searches for .ini files with the name OTHER as the vendor.

• If the model name cannot be matched, Kofax Front Office Server searches for .ini files with the name UNKNOWN as the model. However, the term OTHER appears in the field describing the model.

• If an .ini file cannot be matched, a warning appears in the log.

The .ini files must be in their original location, which is in the Kofax\Vrs\Devices folder where the user profile is located. If you need to customize or create .ini files, contact Kofax Technical Services.
