Enable Online Learning

Before you can configure your project for any form of online learning, you first need to enable online learning. You can do this by following these steps:

  1. On the Project tab, in the Configuration group, select Project Settings Project Settings icon.
  2. On the General tab, in the Online Learning, select Enable Online Learning.

    The Path to online learning files setting and the Advanced button are enabled.

  3. Edit the Path to online learning files as needed. By default, a path including the name of the project is provided.

    If you modify the path, ensure that no other projects are using that path. Any data in the online learning folder may be corrupted and cause problems for other projects.

    When a project is opened a backup copy of the training database is created if Project Builder detects that the database structure has changed and the data model requires an upgrade. This can happen when the same learning folder is used for a production project and a copy of that same project is used for development. This backup copy is available to restore the older state of the database if needed.

  4. Click OK to close the Project Settings window and save your online learning settings.
  5. If the online learning path that you specified in step 3 does not exist, you are prompted to create this folder. Click OK to create the online learning folder.

    The online learning folder is created and the Project Settings window closes.

  6. Optionally, enable Extraction Online Learning, Classification Online Learning, or both.
