Route batches, folders, and documents

Document Routing can route an entire batch, a complete folder with its documents or individual documents within a batch to a different processing module via script programming. To route single documents and folders you first divide the parent batch into one or multiple child batches and, if needed, define the next processing module. For a child batch that does not contain folders you can also assign a different batch class and restart processing.

A sample project that shows how Document Routing can be implemented using a script is available when you install Project Builder.

You cannot route a child batch to a module that is not included in the batch class queue.

You cannot use Document Routing for a batch class that has Kofax Capture Partial Batch Export enabled.

If your project has foldering enabled, the best practice is to use batch routing instead of the Kofax Capture Partial Batch Export feature. This ensures that any rejected documents are sent to Kofax Capture Quality Control, and that existing empty folders do not cause problems with the partial batch export.
