Bar Code Servers

A bar code server processes bar code requests for MarkView documents. Requests are stored in bar code server queues, which are assigned to bar code servers. Map bar code servers to bar code queues using bar code queue assignments. You can have multiple bar code servers in the system, and a bar code server can handle more than one queue of bar code requests.

Add a bar code server

  1. Select the Bar Code Servers tab and click Add.
  2. Enter a Server Name and Description.
  3. Enter a Location that identifies the physical location of the server.
  4. Click Save.

Modify a bar code server

You cannot change the server name once it is saved.

You cannot delete a server that has a queue assigned to it. Remove the queue assignment and then remove the server.

  1. Select the Bar Code Servers tab and click Details next to the server to change.
  2. Continue as follows:

    • To change server settings, modify the fields as needed, and click Save.

    • To remove the server, click Delete.

Assign a queue

  1. Select the Bar Code Servers tab and click Details next to the server for which to assign a queue.
  2. Select the Queue Assignments tab and click Add.
  3. Click Select Bar Code Queue and select a queue from the LOV.
  4. Enter a Priority.
  5. Click Save.

Modify a queue assignment

  1. Click Details next to the queue name to change.
  2. Continue as follows:

    • To change queue assignment, modify the fields as needed, and click Save.

    • To remove the queue assignment, click Delete.
