Volumes

A volume is a logical (as opposed to physical) directory where the pages of MarkView documents are stored. Depending on the filename scheme in use, the volume may be flat or hierarchical. Volumes link platforms to physical directories through volume paths.

You can have only one (1) open volume for MarkView.

Add a volume

  1. Select the Volumes tab and click Add.
  2. Enter a Volume Name.
  3. From the list, select the Filename Scheme to use.
  4. From the list, select the Status to use.
  5. To specify where in the access order the volume will be placed, enter an <Assignment Sequence>.
  6. Click Save.

Modify a volume

MarkView generates the ID, which you cannot change.

  1. Click Details to the left of the volume to edit.
  2. Continue as follows:
    • To change volume parameters, modify the fields as needed, and click Save.

    • To remove the volume, click Delete.

Add document type authorizations

  1. Select the Volumes tab and click Details next to the volume for which to add document type authorization.
  2. Select the Document Type Auths tab and click Add.
  3. Click Select Document Type and select the document type from the LOV.
  4. Click Save.

Modify document type authorization

MarkView generates the ID, which you cannot change.

  1. Select the Document Type Auths tab and click Details next to the authorization to change.
  2. Continue by doing one of the following:
    • To change the authorization, modify the fields as needed, and click Save.

    • To remove the authorization, click Delete.

Add the volume path

  1. Select the Volumes tab and click Details next to the volume for which to add the path.
  2. Select the Volume Paths tab and click Add.
  3. Click Select Platform and select the platform from the LOV.
  4. Enter the Path for volume access.
  5. Click Save.

Modify the volume path

  1. Select the Volume Paths tab and click Details next to the volume path to change.
  2. Continue by doing one of the following:
    • To change the path, modify the fields as needed, and click Save.

    • To remove the path, click Delete.
