Process batches with Server

Kofax Transformation - Server is a custom module that you can add to the list of selected queues in the Kofax Capture Batch Class Properties window.

Server runs as an unattended module. Server can run as multiple instances. You can typically place Server instances just after the Scan module and before the Validation module in the workflow.

When running as single instance, Server typically performs document separation (if preset), and then classification and extraction. If foldering is enabled, foldering is performed for the documents. Finally, folder fields are extracted if defined. The processed batch is then passed to the next module in the workflow.

You can also use Server for classification only. (In this case, no locator methods are defined for the class. The classification result is passed either as a form type or in a special field that stores the class name.) Server classifies all documents in the batch and passes the results to the next module in the workflow.

When running as an application (rather than as a service), you can either start Server from the Start menu or the Kofax Capture Batch Manager module.

Note When you start Server using the Kofax Capture Batch Manager module, keep in mind that a batch may be locked by a server running on a different computer or as a service. In this case the following error message is generated: Error in function ProcessBatch: the batch is currently locked.
