Print Servers

The print server is no longer part of a standard MarkView installation. The MarkView Export Server now handles print requests. Customers who have versions of MarkView that are earlier than 5.5 can continue to use the print server to handle print requests.

Add a print server

  1. Select the Print Servers tab and click Add.
  2. Enter a Server Name and Description.
  3. Enter the Location of the server.
  4. Click Save.

Modify a print server

You cannot change a server name once it is saved.

  1. Select the Print Servers tab and click Details next to the server to edit.
  2. Continue as follows:
    • To change the print server description and location, modify the fields as needed, and click Save.

    • To remove the print server, click Delete.

      Note You cannot delete a server that has a queue assigned to it. Remove the queue assignment and then remove the server.

Assign a queue

  1. Select the Print Servers tab and click Details next to the server for which to assign to a queue.
  2. Select the Queue Assignments tab and click Add.
  3. Click Select Print Queue and select a queue from the LOV.

    Field

    Description

    Queue Name

    Enter the name of the print queue, or click Select Print Queue to select a queue from the list.

    Printer Name

    Add the printer name, which must include the full path by which the printer is known on the machine where Document Export is running.

    Priority

    Reserved for future use.

    Export Queue Name

    Enter the name of the export queue, or click Select Export Queue and select a queue from the list.

  4. Click Save.
Associate only one Print Server and one printer per print queue. Otherwise, the Export Server cannot handle print requests.

Modify a queue assignment

  1. Click Details next to the queue assignment to change.
  2. Continue as follows:
    • To change the queue assignment, modify the fields as needed, and click Save.

    • To remove the queue assignment, click Delete.
