Zero downtime database upgrades are available if you are working in a TotalAgility On-Premise Multi-Tenant or Azure environment.

In the earlier versions of TotalAgility, to upgrade TotalAgility databases in an on-premise multi-tenant environment, you must close the current running application for all the tenants, install new version and upgrade all the tenant databases and start the new version of the application after upgrading all the tenants. This involves application being down for a while. To upgrade TotalAgility databases without any downtime, upgrade of tenant data is done via a new upgrade utility. When you run the utility, you can upgrade TotalAgility by introducing a new version of your application to production during the upgrade process, and the application is never completely down or in an unstable state and the system need not be down until all tenants are upgraded.

TotalAgility On-Premise Multi-Tenant: The zero downtime database upgrade is done through a new utility, Kofax.TotalAgility.Install.OPMTDBUpgrader.exe that is run on an Application server. Refer to the Kofax TotalAgility On-Premise Multi-Tenant Installation Guide.

Kofax TotalAgility Azure: The zero downtime database upgrade is done in Tenant Management System on an Azure staging deployment. See the Help for Tenant Management System for more information.

When installing TotalAgility, you can select to install the second and third Message Connector instance. First instance of Message Connector is installed by default. Refer to the Kofax TotalAgility Installation Guide.
