Multi-tenant support by Message Connector

In a TotalAgility on-premise multi-tenant environment, multiple tenants can connect to a Message Connector (or a pool of Message Connectors) for retrieving documents from various import sources using Direct mode.

In this mode, the messages are imported directly without getting stored in the Message Connector storage. The Message Connectors can connect with TotalAgility without any Integration Server. This mode is the recommended mode for multi-tenant and fault tolerant installations.

In a TotalAgility on-premise environment, this mode can be used with a single tenant.

For multi-tenant support by Message Connector using Direct mode, the following enhancements are supported.

Tenant Management System enhancements

You can create Message Connectors Pools in the Tenant Management System. Each pool can have multiple active Message Connectors. These pools are used as shared connectors in TotalAgility Designer when configuring Direct mode. See the Manage Message Connector Pools help topic.

Message Connector enhancements

The existing Message Connector functionality to store and forward messages is now called Storage mode.

The following fields are added to the Message Connector Configuration:

  • On the General tab, the Storage mode and Direct mode fields are added to enable Message Connector to operate in Storage mode and Direct mode, respectively.

  • On the Performance and limits tab, the Server threads field is added for configuring the number of reception threads to handle concurrent calls on the internal HTTP interface.

The left menu of the Message Connector Monitor includes three sections:

  • General: Lists the options available to both Storage mode and Direct mode.

  • Direct mode: Displays passive inputs status related to Direct mode.

  • Storage mode: Lists options specific to Storage mode.

TotalAgility Designer enhancements

In Integration > Import settings > Import connections page, the following fields are added:

  • Connector type: A connector type can be either local or shared.

  • Connection mode: A connection mode can be either direct or storage.

  • Message Connectors: Multiple Message Connectors can be added to support Direct mode.

For complete details about the new fields and their applicability for different Kofax TotalAgility environments, see the Configure the import connection settings help topic.

The following system tasks are added for TotalAgility in an on-premise multi-tenant environment under System > System settings > System > System tasks:

  • Ingest Local Connectors

  • Ingest Shared Connectors
