Capture Client/Web capture control

This topic summarizes the new and enhanced features in Capture Client and Web capture control.

Use of multiple monitors for validation

In Capture Client, you can undock the Image viewer directly to the second monitor without manual movement. However, to allow this functionality to work properly in Chrome, you must use Chrome 80.0.3965 or higher and apply the following pre-configuration steps:

  1. Use https protocol for the TotalAgility site.

  2. Enable Experimental Web Platform features in the Chrome browser:

    1. Run Chrome using the following URL: chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features.

    2. On the available list for Experimental Web Platform features, select Enabled.

On the TotalAgility form when you undock the Image viewer for the first time, you are prompted to allow or block the browser to move windows between monitors. Click Allow.

Generate PDF to retain source PDF metadata

You can split and merge documents in Capture Client or using the Capture SDK, and have the generated PDF to reflect the resulting document state, as well as retain all metadata from the original source PDF.

The Image processing, Document conversion, and Generate PDF activities now have the ability to maintain and include all metadata information from the source PDF and include them into the generated PDF so that the users can get generated PDFs without losing data.

You still need to convert PDF to TIFF images first using the Image processing or Document conversion activity. Then users can use the Generate PDF activity to create PDF files that reflect the changes made to the documents.

Ability to export annotations including masks

You can now retain annotations including image masks in Capture Client or Web capture control when the document is exported.

A new Export annotations option is added to the Export activity that helps you to export annotations and image masks.

For PDFs, TotalAgility converts annotations to native PDF format, and for images, includes the annotations in the image.

Runtime UI performance improvements

Performance is significantly improved for all operations that take over 300 milliseconds to complete.
