Design Studio enhancements

Design Studio now uses authentication with the Management Console that acts as a license server.

Add Management Consoles to Design Studio, select one as a license server, and switch users.

In the My Projects pane, use a new Disconnect option to disconnect Design Studio from Management Console and switch users or roles.

Create new standalone Robots or convert a Robot that is called from a Basic Engine Robot to run in a standalone mode.

Configure the Robot definitions, add the required steps, and get the values by adding the Output Value step.

Robots with simple type input cannot be scheduled to run standalone. They must be called from a Basic Engine Robot.

In the Robot Editor, click  to expand or collapse the view from a toolbar to a pane of Robot definitions.

Use the enhanced Robot definitions pane to add, configure, modify, and view input parameters, devices, databases, return types, exceptions, tree modes, and variables.

Use the Prepare Execution button  to execute a Robot and enable full editing options in the Robot.

Use the Configure Robot button to configure your Robot by entering comments, uploading thumbnails, adding tags and human processing time. Also, view the Robot and Design Studio versions.

In the State pane, the following enhancements and new user interface elements are now available.

• The Output Values node for variables of Record type.

• To output the value, right-click the required variable in the State pane and select Insert Step > Output.

• Configure the max number of output values shown in the State pane. To do so, right-click the Output Values node and select Open Output Settings.

  This action opens the Robot Editor tab in the Design Studio Settings window.

• Select Paste to insert the copied value. This is especially useful for binary values.

• Use Collapse All to collapse open fields or elements.
