Service authentication enhancements

Kofax RPA 11.5.0 introduces an enhanced list of clients that use service authentication with Management Console and changes to the user interface.

In Management Console, the "OAuth server" section is renamed to Service authentication and "Client secret" is renamed to Shared secret.

Note that in the configuration files, parameters are also renamed.

Kapplets and Synchronizer

Kapplets and Synchronizer use updated parameters for the service authentication process.

See "Install Kapplets" in the Kofax RPA Installation Guide and "Start Synchronization" in the Kofax RPA Best Practices Guide.

RoboServer

Use the -ss parameter to specify the shared secret to authenticate RoboServer with Management Console.

See "Start RoboServer" in the Kofax RPA Administrator's Guide.

Desktop Automation Service

Two authentication options are now available.

  • Select Service authentication and enter the shared secret configured in the Management Console.

  • Select Using Management Console to interactively authenticate with the Management Console as a user.

See "View and modify configuration options" in the Kofax RPA Desktop Automation Service Guide.

Robot File System and Document Transformation Service

Use shared secrets to authenticate Robot File System and Document Transformation Service with Management Console.

See "Set up Robot File System server" in the Kofax RPA Administrator's Guide and "Install Document Transformation Components" in the Kofax RPA Installation Guide.
