Formatting Text

Changing Typeface or Text Size

  1. Select the specific text you want to format. Alternatively, use the Edit tool to click on a text box and select the whole text block.
  2. Locate the font and text formatting section of the Editing bar. If the Editing bar is not visible, go to View > Show Editing bar (Command+Shift+E).
  3. The font and text formatting section will reflect the current typeface, size, and style of the selected text.
  4. Select new properties for the selected text. Choose from a list of fonts and sizes. Click to add any font styling.

Alternatively, choose Format > Font > Show Fonts from the menu (Command+T). When the system Font panel appears, make the desired changes in the panel.

Changing Text Color

  1. Select the specific text you want to format.
  2. Locate the font and text formatting section of the Editing bar.
  3. The font and text formatting section will reflect the current color of the selected text.
  4. Click on the Text Color item. From the drop-down menu choose one of the designated colors, or choose Other Text Color… to pick a custom color.

Changing Text Justification

  1. Click on a text box to select it.
  2. Locate the font and text formatting section in the Editing bar.
  3. The font and text formatting section will reflect the current justification for the selected text. Choose the alignment: Align Left, Center, Justify, Align Right.

Alternatively, choose Format > Text and choose the alignment: Align Left, Center, Justify, Align Right.

Changing Line Spacing

  1. Choose Format > Font > Baseline.
  2. Select either Default, Raise, or Lower.

Changing the Spacing Between Characters

  1. Choose Format > Font > Kern.
  2. Select either Use Default, Use None, Tighten, or Loosen.

Tips:

Library: Frequently-used text, including formatting, can be saved to the Kofax Power PDF for Mac Library for reuse.

Ruler: With a specific text box selected for editing, the ruler also provides controls for formatting text such as options to adjust style, alignment, spacing, and create numbered or bulleted lists.
