Changes in behavior

This topic describes behavior that is changed in Kofax Insight 6.5.0.

New deployment procedure on Azure Cloud Services

The "Cloud Services (classic)" deployment model is retiring and is already deprecated for new customers. New deployments should use the Azure Resource Manager based deployment model, which is "Azure Cloud Services (extended support)." The new deployment procedure is added to the Kofax Insight Administrator's Guide for Azure, completely replacing the procedure for installing on Azure Cloud Services (classic).

Legacy mode removed

The support of the Legacy mode is discontinued.

Fixed port number and service name

Insight Scheduler Service and Insight Bridge Service are assigned fixed default port numbers and names. If you have a pre-installed version of Insight and are upgrading it to Insight 6.5.0, the Insight Scheduler service port will be set to the default port number 13501 during the installation (15501 for Insight Bridge service). If the default port is already in use, the port will be switched to 13650 (15501 for Insight Bridge service). The Insight Bridge Service is an optional service. It is not installed by default.

Admin Console application enhancements

  • The Application settings section is added, which enables you to define and configure application settings and properties, such as types of authentication, custom pages, and multiple viewers. In connection with this enhancement, the following changes have been made.
    • Custom viewer is removed from the Installation Manager.

    • Application properties are removed from web.config.

    • Multiple Viewers setting is removed from the Azure configuration file.

The functionality of the removed features is available in the Application settings section.

  • The Authentication section is moved to the Application settings section.

For details, see the Kofax Insight Admin Console Help.

Application settings should be defined separately for each tenant

Application settings should be defined separately for each tenant separately in the Multi-Tenant Console. Previously, they were defined for all tenants simultaneously.
