Changes in behavior

This topic describes behavior that is changed in Kofax Insight 6.4.0:

Versions older than 6.0.0 unavailable for update

You can only update Insight starting from version 6.0.0, update of older versions is no longer supported.

'Data load legacy mode' to be removed

Support for the Data load legacy mode will be discontinued in the next release

Data loader application enhancements

The following improvements are introduced to the Data Loader application:

  • The Documents tree is added, which enables administrators to select a project from the list and reschedule, put on hold, cancel, or manually run execution plans and tasks.

  • The Record dates tab is renamed to History dates.

  • The Project column is removed from all grids.

  • The Loading column is removed from the Execution plan list.

  • The Schedule time is added to the Load console tab.

  • The Start time column is renamed to Execution Start Time.

  • The Plan type option is added for the execution plan to filter plans in the Data Loader application.

  • The Auto-refresh option is provided for task details.

  • Records and metrics are removed from the Data Loader and Data Load module.

Ability to define query type automatically based on data source properties

Previous query types and behavior include: Insert select, Single select, and Multiple select. If Insert select was inactive, Single select or Multiple select was applied.

Current modes and behavior include: Insert select, Single select, and Auto. If Insert select was not selected in the previous version of the project, the Auto query mode is applied (it means that Insert select, Single select or Multiple select query type is applied automatically based on the connection properties).

Important: In some cases, the Auto mode may attempt to apply the Insert select type of the query that could be unavailable under certain conditions, such as in Azure, when different data bases are located on the same server. In such situation, we recommend that you keep the Auto mode selected, and define different connection keys for the data sources to ensure that single select or multiple select query is executed if all connections are compatible. You can configure the Connection key setting in the Property Panel to ensure that a single query to multiple data sources is executed if all connections are compatible. For details, see Help for Kofax Insight Studio.

Email settings moved from the Options to the License manager section

You can now specify the Administrator email address to receive License notification emails. Also, you can define the number of Days prior to license expiration to send a license expiration notification in advance. For details, see Help for Kofax Insight Admin Console.

View holder enhancements

In Insight 6.4.0, the following improvements are introduced to the Data wizard for the View holders:

  • The document and dimension selection is replaced with one control that opens a dialog box with available metrics, records, and translation tables. For translation tables, all dimensions are displayed for all documents to which a translation table is assigned.

  • The Default record is renamed to Record field. Record and field selection is replaced with one control.

  • The Default URL is renamed to URL.

  • The Default View is renamed to View.

Ability to add tables by name

In Insight 6.4.0, the feature to add tables feature has two options:

  • Get tables: Select tables from the list to add the tables from a data source.

  • Add tables: Enter a unique table name to add the specified table from a data source.
