DWS debug logs
Access the DWS logs from the DWS Web administrator page. (See the Device Web Server section of the help for full information about this feature.) Follow these tips for using the logs:
-
Make sure logs are enabled. We recommend to enable all logs so that issues on any device can be traced.
-
Create a snapshot as soon as you observe an issue. This way, you have a copy of the log even if you cannot recreate the issue. Use the "Limit Kofax log files" field to specify how many logs to retrieve. Set the field to -1 to get all logs, but because this can impact performance, it is recommended that you use this option during off-hours.
-
Make sure the logs cover the duration of the issue.
Do the following:
- In a Web browser, enter https://<DWSHostName>:8443 where DWSHostName is the host name or IP address of the DWS server.
-
Enter the domain and a local DWS administrator name and password. Click
OK.
Access to this web page is limited to the user running the service or a valid member of the administrators group for the computer running DWS.
