Reader Mode and Custom Reader Mode

Reader Mode

Power PDF switches itself to Reader Mode if the trial period has expired without activation. Reader Mode allows users to view, print, or comment documents, but locks down the following features both in Power PDF, Create Assistant and Convert Assistant:

In the trial period, Power PDF displays marketing messages at startup.

The Kofax Power PDF Standard/Advanced Product Activation dialog box displays at the startup for Power PDF, Create Assistant, Convert Assistant and Kofax PDF printer driver, as long the product is not activated.

Custom Reader Mode

System administrators can set Power PDF to Custom Reader mode. In this mode, users still have access to many program features, such as commenting, but you may not be able to modify the content. In a company environment, a system administrator has a wide range of choices, which features to include and exclude, as detailed in the Customization Kit Guide. Please consult the system administrator with any related issue.

 

Some parts of this Help system do not apply to Power PDF running in Custom Reader mode. Areas of functionality not included in Custom Reader mode are:
