The Kofax Power PDF Standard/Advanced Product Activation dialog box shows up at the startup of Power PDF, Create Assistant, Convert Assistant and Kofax PDF printer driver, if the product is not activated. Click Activate in the Trial Mode / Reader Mode group on the Home ribbon to start this dialog box manually.
Select Launch in Trial Mode to skip activation under the trial period, which lasts for 15 days, counting down from the day of the installation. During this period Power PDF, Create Assistant, Convert Assistant and Kofax PDF printer driver will display this dialog box at startup. As the trial period ends, Power PDF will turn into Reader Mode, serving as a PDF reader application with limited features. See Reader mode for details.
Select Launch in Reader Mode (available from Power PDF version 3.0 on) to continue to use Power PDF with limited features, after the trial period has been expired. See Reader Mode for details.
Select Activate product to end the trial period by providing a serial number, which is not in use elsewhere. Activation will prevent this dialog box and marketing messages to show up again.
Select Purchase Serial Number to launch the Kofax website, and purchase a Power PDF license with a serial number, which can be used for the activation.
Activation requires internet connection but does not send or expose any user or application data – it is used to confirm that you have a valid serial number that has not been used by others.
Power PDF displays marketing messages at each startup, as long the product is not activated, but runs in trial mode or in reader mode.
