System description

The Server Monitor is designed to manage local or remote FraudOne components. The only prerequisites are that the components should be managed by the FraudOne Server Manager (srvmngr4) and that there is a network connection using the TCP/IP protocol between the managed and manager computer.

On each computer running managed FraudOne components, a Server Manager will be installed. The Monitor connects to the Server Manager via TCP/IP using UDP for commands and TCP for log file transfer.

Commands are sent to the Server Manager, which checks the authorization if necessary and then informs the managed component of the change (see Authorization, Authentication and Authentication process).

Log information is sent from the component to the Server Manager, which records this in a log file and sends it to any Monitor(s) where logging is enabled. The amount of information provided by the components is configurable and can be changed using the Server Monitor (see Logging, Viewing log information and Verifying the log).
