Scan Signature

In this dialog, the authorized person's signature can be recorded.

To scan the signature, the signature sheet is first placed on the scanner.

Before the signatures are scanned, the scanner settings should be checked. As long as at least one scanner driver is installed, drivers, paper format, and colour depth can be changed using the Parameterize button (see Parameterize).

In addition, it is important to set the contrast. It should not be set too high, so that the grey scale in the signature can be recognized. This grey scale is needed for Automatic Payment Image Analysis (APIA). If all settings have been made correctly, the scanning process can be started by clicking on the Scan button. The scanned surface is then displayed on the monitor.

If the signature is in a graphics file, this file can also be called up for processing through a file dialog. This is done by pressing the Open button. A file dialog appears, with which you can select and call up the graphics file.

The third possibility to record a signature is through the button Tablet (see Tablet entry). Using this function, it is possible to import a signature on a pad directly into FraudOne as a grey-scale image. This possibility is only available with NT and an installed WINTAB32-compatible driver.

The scanned or imported signature can now be enlarged or reduced using the 'plus' or 'minus' button in the Zoom option group. If the third button 'enlarge / reduce' of this option group is activated, you can also zoom within the signature by clicking. When enlarged through the left mouse button, the point that was clicked on moves to the centre.

The function option group offers the possibility of inverting a signature (ALT+I) or rotating (ALT+R) it by 90 degrees to the right.

To select a signature or detail, you now mark the area to be transferred by using the mouse pointer, pressing the left button and dragging the mouse. When you release the left mouse button, you are immediately in the Edit Signature dialog, with which you can work on the signature further. To cancel a selection, such as when you do not select the correct starting point, pull the pointer out of the scan area. You can now begin a new selection.

If you want to transfer the entire area, press the Select button.
