    General functionality

    View model configuration Improvements

A number of improvements have been made to the view model.

The "Display structure", "Display table type" and "Button label" columns have been removed from the view model configuration. Grid data structures and tables are now generated dynamically.

The new "Environment" column in the view model is populated with values for the SAP GUI and Web Application, respectively. Important! This applies only to view models created in PROCESS DIRECTOR 7.4. If you have created customer view models prior to 7.4, you must add the appropriate entry in the "Environment" field of these view models.

Depending on the selected grid environment, different sets of parameters are now visible in the layout configuration. Previously parameters relevant to all environments were displayed.

New settings are available in the SAP GUI grid layout to configure subgrids (such as line items). You can specify the position of the grid on the screen and whether it is displayed automatically or the user has to open it. You can also disable the new button that allows users to dock and undock grids.

    Sorting of determination results

Determination results in the search help are now sorted by specific result values. This makes it easier to identify results returned by more than one search.

    Search help for Text field

Search help is now available for the “Text” field in line items and accounting lines. If a text ID is entered in the field, the corresponding text is inserted. It is also possible to enter freeform text.

    SARA archiving

It is now possible to archive document data from the data tables of PROCESS DIRECTOR via the SARA transaction. Programs are provided to write, read, delete, reload and index the transaction data of the PROCESS DIRECTOR tables.

    SAP GUI grid optimization

The display of grids in the SAP GUI is now optimized in accordance with the screen resolution and number of rows in the grids, both in the document overview and the document detail. The optimization algorithm attempts to display as much information as possible without leaving empty space on the screen, sharing space between subgrids, displaying as many rows as possible, and displaying the entire detail screen if possible.

    Notes editable until saved

It is now possible to edit notes until they have been explicitly saved. Previously, if the user created a note and then performed another action before saving it, the note could no longer be edited.

New user profile parameter for determination debugging

A new user profile parameter, /EBY/PDBO_DEBUG_DET, is now available, which when set to X displays detailed messages about the determination search results and result handling.

    Line item matching

When the user selects a line item, the corresponding item is automatically highlighted in other grids. By default, line item matching is configured to match Goods Receipt and Order Confirmation line items with purchase order items, and to match Payment Advice line items to open items. It is possible to configure this functionality for other grids and process types.

License threshold warnings displayed to chosen users

License threshold warnings are now customizable and can be displayed to only those users who are responsible for ordering licenses, rather than to each user who starts PROCESS DIRECTOR in the SAP GUI.

Indicator for notes in the overview and SAP GUI

In the SAP GUI document overview list, notes icons indicate that notes have been added to the document. There are different icons for notes added by the current user and notes added by a different user. Users can click in the "Notes" column to view and add notes.

Improved performance for PROCESS DIRECTOR start and document overview

Performance has been improved when starting PROCESS DIRECTOR and when opening the document overview list.

Improved message informing about the locked state of a document

The message informing about the locked state of a document now displays the name of the Internet or SAP user using the Web Application, instead of the RFC user name.

    Improved Worklist view performance

All standard Worklist views have been restructured to improve performance.

Generic check class to verify that items exist

A new check, /EBY/CL_PDBO_EVT_CHK_ITEM_EXST, is available to verify that items exist. It checks whether line items are present or not, and returns a message if there are no line items. In the initialization parameters, you can also specify the logical level that should be checked.

    Email search help for messages

A search help is now available for the “E-Mail Address” field in the “Send message” popup.

Display license counter for previous years

It is now possible to view license counters for previous years by clicking the "Display counters for all years button" in /EBY/PD_LICENSES.

    Display grids in undocked windows

A new grid toolbar button “Dock/Undock grid” is available in the SAP GUI to display line items and other details in a separate window (undocked), instead of below the header data (docked). Grids cannot be undocked if this has been suppressed in the view model configuration.

Attachment description support on email screens

The description entered while attaching a file is now displayed on both internal and external message screens.

    Archive uploaded XLS file

It is now possible to archive XLS files that have been added as an attachment to PROCESS DIRECTOR documents.

Add fields to SAP GUI basic screen

The SAP GUI basic screen displays fields above the header data tab pages. By default, the document status, document number and processor are displayed. It is now possible to add other fields to the basic screen.

    Accounts Receivable

    Unified Accounts Receivable process type

The “Payment Advice” process type (PA) has been renamed to “Accounts Receivable” and now provides enhanced options for working with Accounts Receivable data. The following are supported:
    - Post customer payment (F-26, F-28)
    - Create and modify payment advice (FBE1, FBE2)
    - Post and clear electronic bank statement customer payments (FEBA, FEBAN)
    - Create bill of exchange payment (F-36)
    - Perform customer account clearing (F-32)

The “Document type” field indicates and controls the business process. A “Details” tab with additional fields is available for direct posting scenarios (Payment, Bill of Exchange).

For documents created for a dedicated bank statement line (document type “Electronic Bank Statement”), a link to the item in FEBA/FEBAN is available.

It is still possible to use separate processes for Payment Advice and Electronic Bank Statements, as in previous PROCESS DIRECTOR versions.

Read SAP payment advice data for posted PROCESS DIRECTOR document

If changes are made to an SAP payment advice and the corresponding PROCESS DIRECTOR Payment Advice document has been posted, the changes are now reflected in the PROCESS DIRECTOR document.

Preset to update data when clearing is performed without FEBAN

A new preset, /EBY/CL_PDES_PRESET_FEBEP, is available that checks if clearing has been performed outside of the FEBAN transaction. If clearing postings are found, the Posting Area 1 and/or Posting Area 2 data is updated accordingly in the FEBEP and PROCESS DIRECTOR tables.

Preset to set bank statement line item status

A new preset class, /EBY/CL_PDES_PRESET_EPERL, is available which sets the Electronic Bank Statement line item status to complete if Posting area 2 is completed in FEBAN, but not Posting area 1.

Preset to calculate Payment Advice gross amount and discount from line items

A new preset, /EBY/CL_PDPA_PRESET_DISCOUNT, is available for Payment Advices that calculates the gross amount and the discount amount at header level from the line items.

    Payment posting discrepancy handling

When the clearing posting from an electronic bank statement results in new items on the customer account, it is now possible via a button on the line items toolbar to create a new Accounts Receivable document to handle the discrepancy.

Payment Advice open item determination by sales order

A new determination search is available for the “Payment Advice item mapper” determination that makes it possible to determine the document number, item number and fiscal year in the line item by searching for a sales order number.

Payment Advice credit lines displayed as negative values

Credit lines of a Payment Advice are now displayed as negative values in the Payment Advice "Open Items" grid and the Electronic Bank Statement "Payment Advice Items" grid.

Open items grid for Payment Advices

A new, read-only “Open items” grid is available that displays all open items for the entered customer. Open items can be dragged from this grid and dropped to the Payment Advice line items grid.

New statuses for Electronic Bank Statement line items

The following statuses are now possible for Electronic Bank Statement line items: “Not cleared”, “Cleared, discrepancy exists”, “Cleared, PA created for dispute handling” and “Cleared completely”.

Lock SAP payment advice when editing PROCESS DIRECTOR document

When a posted (but not cleared) PROCESS DIRECTOR Payment Advice is being edited, the corresponding SAP payment advice document is now locked and cannot be edited.

Improved Payment Advice preset for payment/gross amount

Previously, the preset /EBY/CL_PDPA_PRESET_PAYMNT simply copied the header gross amount to the header payment amount, or vice versa. This preset now also takes the discount into account (Gross amount = Payment amount + Cash discount amount; Payment amount = Gross amount – Cash discount amount).

Header status for filtered bank statements

As bank statements can be filtered using transaction /EBY/PDES_VPTR, the PROCESS DIRECTOR document may contain less bank statement items than in FEBAN. The header status of the PROCESS DIRECTOR document is now set to "Processed" when all items that are visible in PROCESS DIRECTOR have been successfully processed, even if there are items in FEBAN that have not been processed.

Edit posted PROCESS DIRECTOR Payment Advice

It is now possible to edit a posted (but not cleared) PROCESS DIRECTOR Payment Advice document. Changes are passed to the corresponding SAP payment advice on saving.

Display note to payee in separate window

In an Electronic Bank Statement document, it is now possible to display the note to payee in a separate window by double-clicking in the "Note to payee" field.

Display attachments of open Payment Advice items

Via an icon in the Payment Advice Items grid, it is now possible to display the attachments of accounting documents assigned to Payment Advice items.

Display attachments of bank statement items in Payment Advice

If the Payment Advice document was initiated from an Electronic Bank Statement item, attachments from there are visible and attachments to the PROCESS DIRECTOR Payment Advice document can be linked to the bank statement item as well.

Customer name in Electronic Bank Statement

The customer name is now displayed in Electronic Bank Statement items. For CPD vendors, the name is taken from the first assigned open Payment Advice item.

Collective search help for Payment Advice document number

A collective search help is now available for the “DocumentNo” field in Payment Advice line items, allowing the user to search both open and cleared items, as well as the Payment Advice determination results.

Add Electronic Bank Statement Note to payee to Payment Advice

When a new Payment Advice document is created for an Electronic Bank Statement item, the content of the "Note to payee" field is now added as a note to the Payment Advice.

    Customer Orders

    Scheduling line improvements

The delivery date for automatically created scheduling lines is now taken from the schedule line date field if this is filled at line item level; otherwise the date is taken from the header as before.

Posting BAdI support for LOGIC_SWITCH import parameter

The BAdI /EBY/PDSO_POST method BEFORE_POST has been enhanced with the CS_SWITCH parameter, which corresponds to the FM SD_SALESDOCUMENT_CREATE parameter LOGIC_SWITCH. This is required to enter conditions that were previously selected from a reference sales documents, such as a quotation, contract or inquiry.

Partner role description for sales order partners

The description of the partner role is now displayed instead of the key value.

    Improved Conditions popup

The "Price conditions" popup has been improved; it now also displays the condition name and rate unit.

Check to indicate mismatch between ordered and scheduled item quantities

A new check, /EBY/CL_PDSO_EVT_CHK_SCHDL_QTY, is available that checks the scheduled quantity of items against their ordered quantity and returns a warning message when there is a mismatch.

    Address type description display

The “Address Type” field now displays the descriptive label instead of the numeric value. Note that the "Address Type" field is not displayed by default and must be configured for display in the customer field catalog.

    Financial Postings

Warning message when currency key is changed

When the currency key is changed in a Financial Posting document, a warning message is now issued to the user to verify that the item amounts are still correct.

    Suppress duplicate messages

Occasionally, checks on Financial Posting documents result in duplicate messages being returned by the BAPI. A configuration option is now available to suppress the duplicates so that the message is only displayed once. Exceptions to this rule can be defined.

Automatic calculation of account type for BAPI

Previously, when posting with the BAPI, the error message “No item information transferred into Accounting” was displayed if no preset was configured for the field KOART. PROCESS DIRECTOR now automatically calculates the KOART value on posting, and no preset is required.

    Goods Receipts

Preset to support goods receipts without reference

A new preset, /EBY/CL_PDDN_PRESET_MOVE_TYPE, is available to set the movement type. By default, this is set to type 101 for goods receipts with a reference (delivery note or inbound delivery), and to type 501 for goods receipts without a reference. Other movement types can be specified by copying the standard preset and adjusting the code accordingly.

    Inbound delivery field

The “Inbound delivery” field is now available in Goods Receipts header data. When the user enters a value in this field and presses ENTER, the corresponding purchase order is automatically determined at header and item level. The inbound delivery number and item are also displayed in the Goods Receipt line items. Clicking the inbound delivery number opens the SAP inbound delivery document.

Creator of goods receipt document actual user instead of RFC user

If a Goods Receipt is posted from the Web Application, the RFC user is entered as the creator of the document. A BAdI implementation, /EBY/PDDN_MB_BAPI_GOODSMVT_CRE, is now available to insert the name of the user that posted the document instead of the RFC user.

    Invoice Block/Cancelation

    Support for multiple vendor lines

Invoices posted in SAP may have multiple posting lines with different vendors. PROCESS DIRECTOR now supports blocking and cancelation of such invoices. When a new Invoice Block/Cancelation document is created and an invoice with more than one vendor line is selected, additional fields are provided for the user to select the vendor and line item that should be blocked or canceled.

Block or cancelation for invoices with different vendor numbers

It is now possible to create requests for invoice blocking or cancelation for SAP invoice documents with more than one line with posting key 31 and different vendor numbers. If the request is created manually, the user is prompted to select the vendor. If the data is uploaded from an external file, different PROCESS DIRECTOR documents are created for each vendor. The item number field (ITEM_NUM) must be included in the mapping configuration and in the uploaded file.

    Master Data Maintenance

Tax number validation for Vendor and Customer Master

New checks are available for Vendor and Customer Master Maintenance to to validate the tax number ( /EBY/CL_PDMDVM_EVT_CHK_VAT and /EBY/CL_PDMDCM_EVT_CHK_VAT).

    Order Confirmations

    Order confirmation line item texts

It is now possible to add item texts to Order Confirmation line items. A new check , “Check confirmed text”, is available to compare Order Confirmation item texts with the corresponding item texts in the purchase order. If there are differences, a message is issued and the Order Confirmation and PO texts are displayed side by side in a popup, with differences highlighted. This popup can also be opened manually by clicking a button in the “Items” grid.

    Jump to PO info record

If a PO info record is available for a PO line item, the info record number is displayed and the user can click on this number to jump to the info record.

    Improved messages for quantity check

The quantity check /EBY/CL_PDOR_EVT_CHK_QTY now returns the standard SAP messages regarding an incorrect material and unit of measurement.

Icon to jump to transaction MD04

If the "Material" and "Plant" fields are filled in a PO line item, an icon is displayed which the user can click to jump to transaction MD04, Stock/Requirements List.

    Payment Approvals

Block payment run if PROCESS DIRECTOR proposal is not approved

An implementation of the standard SAP BAdI FI_F110_SCHEDULE_JOB is now available. This implementation is named /EBY/PDPR_F110_SJOB and can be activated to block the payment run in F110 if the PROCESS DIRECTOR Payment Approval document has not been approved in workflow.

    Requisitions

Use SAP copying options for item texts

PROCESS DIRECTOR now uses the standard SAP copying options for item texts (table T165P) when posting a PROCESS DIRECTOR requisition as an SAP requisition or purchase order.

Process parameter to show/suppress popup for PO or requisition

A new process parameter is available to specify whether or not a popup is displayed that prompts the user to select the type of SAP document to create: a purchase order or a requisition.

Process parameter for OCI field mapping

A new process parameter “OCI field mapping” is available in /EBY/PDPO_EPC_OTHER to map OCI catalog fields to PROCESS DIRECTOR fields, map external ISO codes to internal units of measurement, and to specify which text object type is used for long text from the OCI catalog.

Preset for automatic account assignment determination

A new preset is available to automatically determine the G/L accounts by calling the SAP ME_ACCOUNT_ASSIGNMENT function. The "Account Assignment Category" field must be filled in the requisition, as well as at least one of the following fields: Material, Material Group, Plant.

Display PO number when requisition posted as PO in SAP

When a PROCESS DIRECTOR document posted as a requisition is turned into a purchase order using standard SAP, the corresponding PO number is now added to the PROCESS DIRECTOR requisition at line item level.

Additional fields and search helps in document model/view model

A number of missing fields and search helps have been added to the document model/view model, as well as new view models for Partners, Schedules and Conditions. Previously these had to be added in Customizing.

    Web Application

    User settings

It is now possible to provide personal user settings that users can change in their user profile. Any “pdweb-app.properties” parameter can be provided as a setting (although not all parameters are suitable for user settings). For example, you can provide the parameter “pd_imagedockingwidth” to allow users to individually specify the width of the image display on the screen. The parameters are defined in the new “user_settings.xml” file, and are available to users in the “User settings” pane of the user profile.

User profile Worklist node/Quick start menu

The user profile is now always displayed as a Worklist node instead of as a popup (previously this was controlled by the configuration parameter "pd_user_profile_as_node"). In addition, a Quick start menu item is now available for the user profile.

Tooltip displayed only when different from field label

A tooltip for an icon or a button is now displayed only when it is different from the label of the icon or button.

    Skip start-up selection screen

A new "pdweb-app.properties" parameter, "pd_skip_selection_screen", makes it possible to skip the start-up selection screen and go straight to the Worklist.

    Single Sign On via OpenSSO

The Web Application can now be configured for Single Sign On via an OpenSSO logon ticket.

Page for changing initial password similar to login page

The page where a user can change the initial password now looks similar to the login page.

OCI catalog call with HTTP GET

By adding the "HTTP_METHOD=GET" parameter to the OCI catalog customizing, PROCESS DIRECTOR can now call an OCI catalog with HTTP GET. Previously, only a call with HTTP POST was possible.

No selection list if only one workflow is available

If only one workflow is available for the document, the “Workflow” dropdown selection list is no longer displayed, only the workflow name.

New layout for the start-up selection screen

The start-up selection screen has been redesigned to improve usability. Checkboxes are available to select the process types to display. Process types with filter criteria are highlighted. Clicking a process type displays the filter criteria.

    New cursor positioning behavior

The positioning of the cursor when entering the document detail view, the notes pane or a popup has been improved, in that the cursor is now placed in the appropriate field; for example, in the first mandatory field, or, if there is no mandatory field, in the first empty field.

    More detailed field-level error messages

When a wrong value is entered in a field, instead of a generic message, the message popup now displays details of the error, including the field name.

Log file in user profile for administrators

The Web Application log file is now displayed (read-only) in the user profile of users with administrator rights ("pdweb-app.properties" parameter "administratorN"). This requires that the parameter “pd_user_profile_as_node = yes” is set.

    LDAP support for ReadSoft Mobile

The Web Service used by the ReadSoft Mobile App now supports LDAP authentication.

Information about empty mandatory fields displayed

The "Messages" popup that is displayed when trying to save a document that has empty mandatory fields now shows which mandatory field(s) are empty and need to be filled in.

    Improved automatic display of attachments

Previously, when the user opened the "Attachments" panel, the first attachment in the list of current attachments was automatically displayed. This could be disadvantageous in the case of large attachments or a slow system. Now, an attachment is only displayed when it is selected from the list. However, when a new attachment is uploaded, it is automatically displayed. Invoice images are also automatically displayed.

    Filter for document overview list

Controls are now available in the document overview list column headings to sort the list in ascending and descending order, and to apply or reset a filter. The list can be filtered by single values or a range of values. For columns displaying an icon, the corresponding values can be selected from a dropdown list. The heading of filtered columns is displayed in parentheses. It is possible to filter on multiple columns. This functionality can be suppressed by setting the “pdweb-app.properties” parameter “pd_filter_list=no”.

Document detail view content fully scrollable

The content in the document detail view is now fully scrollable. Previously, it was only possible to scroll in the top or bottom sections.

    Display notes in table area

With the new "pd_notes_in_detail" parameter, notes can now be displayed in the table area of the document detail, instead of in the additional information area.

Display line item attachments with pd_ignore_att_url = yes

Line item attachments are now displayed when the parameter "pd_ignore_att_url" is set to "yes" and the user clicks the attachment icon in a line item. Previously it was only possible to display header attachments with pd_ignore_att_url=no.

Display header data in either tabs or separate panels

With the new configuration parameter, "pd_header_display_mode = TABS or BOXES", a document's header data can now be displayed in either tabs or separate panels.

    Default help_configuration.properties file

A default "help_configuration.properties" file is now delivered with the Web Application. Previously, it was necessary to create this file from scratch.

Default drop-down list selection in search dialog boxes changed from "Please select" to "All"

In search dialog boxes, the default value for drop-down list boxes has been changed from "Please select" to "All" to indicate that if nothing is selected, all values will be found.

    Customize excluded search helps

It is now possible to specify which search helps should not be available in the Web Application. Search helps that call a screen should always be excluded.

    Customizable date and number formats

By default, date and number formats for SAP users are now taken from the settings in the SAP user profile when PROCESS DIRECTOR 7.4 is used. It is possible to override this by setting the “pdweb-app.properties” parameter, “pd_formats_from_sap=no”. It is also possible to specify date and number formats for the Web Application in the “pdweb-app.properties” file by using the parameters, “pd_date_format” and “pd_number_format” (even language-specific formats; for example, "pd_date_format_en").

    Consistent position of navigation arrows

The navigation arrows in the document detail view are now positioned to the left of the document number for easier navigation from one document to the next or previous one.

    Configure collective search helps

A configuration option is now available in the view model to specify which search helps should be included in a collective search help, and to specify their order in the search help popup.

    Configurable XSS security headers

A new parameter, "xss_security_header.n", is available in the "pdweb-app.properties" file to configure which HTTP headers are added to the HTTP response in order to prevent cross-site server scripting. Multiple headers can be set using n=1,2,3 etc. The default setting is "xss_security_header.1 = X-FRAME-OPTIONS:SAMEORIGIN".

    Background search enhancement

The behavior of the "pd_search_on_change" parameter setting has been changed. The new behaviour is that the values that are manually entered into a field which has a search help are automatically verified when the user presses the ENTER or TAB key, or clicks outside the field. If the verification fails, in case of "pd_search_on_change=yes", the search help dialog box automatically opens, and in case of "pd_search_on_change=no", the field is just marked with a red border.

Background search configuration in view model

Previously it was possible to configure the Web Application background search using the “pdweb-app.properties” parameters “bg_search_def” (specify which search help to use for the background search) and ”pd_text_search_key” (extend the background search to match the user input in descriptions as well as field values). These parameters are now obsolete when using the Web Application with PROCESS DIRECTOR 7.4 as these features are now configured in the view model using the settings “Primary search help” and “Search relevant field” respectively.

    Workflows

    Workflow approval matrix

It is now possible to create an approval matrix in which conditions for the approval of workflow steps and the corresponding workflow processors can be defined. The workflow approval matrix is available as a PROCESS DIRECTOR process type (WC_AM WC Approval Matrix). Currently, the logic to call the approval matrix must be coded in a User Exit or BAdI. Only PROCESS DIRECTOR workflows are available, so if the matrix is to be used for Accounts Payable, a workflow must be created in the /EBY/ namespace with the exact same ID as the corresponding workflow in the /COCKPIT/ namespace.

    Support for user groups

PROCESS DIRECTOR now supports the assignment of user groups to workflow steps. User groups can be defined in /COCKPIT/WUM1 and assigned as a permitted user type in the workflow step settings. Assignment of user groups in the background (via pre-assigned processors or BAdI) is also supported.

Substitute icon displayed in workflow status popup

If a user is processing a workflow step in his capacity as substitute for another user, the substitute icon is displayed in the workflow status popup to indicate for which processor the user is performing the substitution.

Notes in SAP GUI "Workflow status" window

The "Workflow status" window now has a new "Notes" tab, where all the entered notes are listed, with the newer ones displayed on top.

    Global management of substitutes

It is now possible to centrally assign substitutes to SAP and Internet users. Previously users could only assign substitutes for themselves.
