Edit a transaction description

Follow this procedure to edit a transaction description by changing its transaction fields:

  1. Open the transaction description you want to edit. The Transaction description dialog is displayed.
  2. Adjust the settings:

    Select the transaction field and click the Properties button. The field properties are displayed in the Properties dialog, where you can edit them as you wish.

    Usually, you insert predefined transaction fields from the Available fields list; however, you can click this button to insert your own unique field. Position the cursor on the line just below where you want to insert a transaction field. Use the Properties dialog to edit the transaction field.

    Here are some types of transaction fields you can create:

    Select the transaction field to be cut. Then click Cut. Cut fields are placed on the clipboard. You can paste them in another position, another transaction description, or Notepad.

    Select the transaction field to be copied. Then click Copy. Copied fields are placed on the clipboard. You can paste them in another position, another transaction description, or Notepad.

    After you cut or copy, select the line just below where you want the transaction fields to be inserted. Then click Paste.

    Select the transaction field to be deleted. Then click the Delete button. You cannot undo this action.

    Use the arrows to move a selected field up or down in the window. This affects the order in which the data is transferred.

  3. Save the transaction description.
