Database name and username encryption

Available starting with Kofax ReadSoft Invoices 6.1.

Description

These settings determine whether the database name and database username are encrypted:

UseEncryptedDB

0 = Do not encrypt database name and database username.

1 = Encrypt database name and database username.

EncryptedDatabase

0 = The database name and database username are not encrypted. If UseEncryptedDB=1, the EncryptedDatabase flag automatically changes to 1 after ReadSoft Invoices connects to the database for the first time.

1 = Database username and database name are encrypted.

Note You cannot reverse the encrypted database name and database username by setting UseEncryptedDB to 0. After the database name and database username are encrypted, it remains unchanged. However, you can use this setting when you change the database. For example, when you change the database used by ReadSoft Invoices to access the database, you might want to test the database connection before encryption. So you set UseEncryptedDB to 0. After you ensure that the database works, set UseEncryptedDB back to 1.
