Display a document definition

Opened document definitions are displayed in the Opened document definitions folder. To display them and work with them there:

  1. Using Manager, list document definitions and select one of them.
  2. Right-click a document definition and select Open. The most recently used learning document for this document definition is displayed. The marked areas on the image are the identifiers and field definitions.
  3. The document definition that you open is shown as an icon in the Opened document definitions folder. Click the Document profiles object bar. Then click the plus signs (+) to expand the Opened document definitions folder and the document definition.


    Now you can work with the document definition. For example, to display the:

    Document definition settings: Right-click the document definition and click Settings.
    Field definitions Double-click a field icon in the Field definitions folder.
    Learning documents: Double-click a learning document icon in the Learning documents folder.
    Scanner settings Double-click the scanner icon.

Tips

  • To make changes to a document definition, use Optimize.
  • To list its documents, right-click a selected definition in the Document definitions dialog and select Documents.
  • You can only open one document definition at a time. However, if you have multiple document definitions to look at, you can do this:
    1. Select multiple document definitions in the Document definitions dialog.
    2. Right-click them and select Open. The first selected document definition is opened and displayed. It is also listed in the Opened document definitions folder.
    3. Move among the listed document definitions, opening each one in turn, using buttons on the toolbar. There are buttons for First, Next, Previous and Last:



Each time you click one, a different document definition is opened and displayed. It is also listed in the Opened document definitions folder.
