Preset functions for scanners with IPC-3

The IPC-3 (Image Processing Circuit 3) is the third generation of the M309x Fujitsu Image Scanner series.

Functionality may vary somewhat with older versions of IPC, which is why the alternatives are listed only as 1-6. The numbers correspond to different settings that depend on the IPC version. The preset functions for scanners with IPC-3, used in combination with Kofax scanner cards, are listed below.

For introductory information, please see Advanced scanner settings: Kofax settings and Fujitsu (IPC) scanner settings.

1 = Normal document (black text on white background) Uses simplified level 4 thresholding, medium image emphasis, photo mode, and default contrast.
2 = Separate foreground from background Uses simplified level 4 thresholding, background and foreground separation, line mode, and default contrast.
3 = NCR forms with background removal Uses simplified level 2 thresholding, background removal, photo mode, and default contrast.
4 = Clean up noisy documents Uses standard level 4 thresholding, background and foreground separation, 5x5 matrix noise removal, photo mode, and default contrast.
