Multi-image options
You can import TIFF files and PDF files that contain more than one image each. These are called multi-image (or "multi-TIFF" for TIFF format) files.
A multi-image file may contain:
- Images from up to 999 single-page documents.
- The images from one or more multi-page invoices.
These documents can be multi-page documents or documents with appendices. Back pages, if any are included, are handled as if they were front pages.
Multi-image files that contain more than one invoice
In order for Kofax ReadSoft Entrance to determine where each document begins and ends within multi-image files, there must be a blank page separating the documents. In addition, you must either:
- Process the images in batches. (The blank page is detected automatically.)
- If you do not want to use batches, set the DetectBlankPageWhenImportingMultiPage setting in Eiglobal.ini to 1. See INI file help for more information.
New image files are created
Interpret imports multi-image files in order of date, time and name, just as it imports single-image files. Each file is unpacked, and each image is saved as a single file. The new image files receive the same names as the original, but are numbered with incrementing file extensions, beginning with .000, .001, .002, etc. Example. If any original file contains only one image, a new file is still created and given the extension .000.
Then Interpret processes each single-image file as usual.
Settings
To display these Multi-image options settings, click Advanced in the Configure image file source and destinations dialog.
| Import multi-image files | Imports files that contain more than one

| Multi-page invoices or invoices with appendices | Select this if any document in the multi-image file has more than one image or has appendix images. |
| Delete multi-image files after import | If this setting is selected, the multi-image
file is deleted after its images are imported.
If this setting is not selected, the multi-image file is moved to the directory specified by Move files / Identified. |
| Ignore read errors in the multi-image files | This controls what happens if a multi-image
file is readable but individual images within the file are damaged.
If this setting is selected, Interpret skips individual damaged images and interprets the good ones. If this setting is not selected, Interpret stops and displays an error message, and writes an error message to the log file. Interpret does not delete the multi-image file, even if you selected Delete multi-image files after import. If a multi-image file is corrupt and cannot be read at all, Interpret moves it to the directory specified by Move files / Error files. |
