This document contains vital information about installing and using a hotfix for ReadSoft FORMS 5-3 SP4.
This is hotfix no. 10, build 16154.10, an upgrade that solves specific issues in FORMS 5-3 SP4.
This hotfix contains all defect fixes from previous hotfixes for FORMS 5-3 SP4. See the next section for details.
Note that this is not a full installation of FORMS 5-3 SP4. The software (FORMS 5-3 SP4) must already be successfully installed before you install this hotfix.
Problems resolved
Case IDs, when available, are included in parentheses.
Manager: Resolved a user-interface issue in the text box where illegal values for Mark fields is defined. It is now clear that it can be used independently of the radio buttons used to validate the number of Mark fields. Note that the UI has only been updated in the English and Swedish versions. Transfer: Resolved an issue where the API method GetFieldImage only returned the file name of the first image when exporting field images as TIFF (G4) singel even when TransferAllFieldImageFileName was set. The API call now results in the names of all field images separated by space delimiters. (00249593, TFS-14068)
FORMS Interpret service now works with job lists. (00243695, TFS-12536)
The Best Stacking option is now supported for the Kodak i5000 scanner.
It is now possible to disable the Fujitsu scanner auto rotation feature using the flag AutoRotate=0 in the section [SCSIOptions] in Ehlocal.ini.
Special characters no longer appear in fields after active validation. (00226505, TFS-7898)
When scanning in batch mode, the batch prefix can now be 12 characters in length. (00225327, TFS-10226)
The UPC-E barcode is now supported by FORMS.
Support for the Fujitsu fi-6800 PaperStream scanner has been added.
Interpretation of the Data Matrix barcode is improved. (00245600, TFS-13246)
Support for Fujitsu PaperStream and the scanners fi-5530C2, fi-5950, fi-6670, fi-7160 and fi-7180 have been added. See Using Fujitsu PaperStream IP With ReadSoft Products.pdf for further details. The file PaperStreamToEHGLOBAL.txt can be used to paste the new scanner descriptions into Ehlocal.ini.
Field names are no longer added to the file name when field images are exported. (00197845, TFS-9886)
It is now possible to delete scanned attachments in the Verify module. (140320-000022, TFS-9786)
The Thickness and Calibrate thickness settings are now enabled for the Canon DR-1130 scanner. (00208045, TFS-9858)
The Manager module no longer crashes when trying to import definitions. (TFS-6118)
Attached image files are now read correctly. (121217-000030, TFS-5720)
The OnFieldComplete event now also fires for newly created fields. Add UseVerifyMarkFieldCreationValidation=0 in the [Options] section in Ehlocal.ini to replicate the old behavior. (00197652, TFS-9823)
Continue job no longer replaces the field value with the field complement value when the split view option is used. (00197991, TFS-9888)
Export and import of form definitions with batch report layouts are now handled correctly. (130613-000058, TFS-7249)
Specific material no longer generates a "rect error" in the Interpret module. (131122-000061, TFS-8920)
The back of a form is no longer displayed in the Scan module when the form cannot be identified. (131025-000024, TFS-9223)
The high accuracy position of the adjustment field is now stored correctly when the forms are post-rotated. (130802-000066,TFS-9301)
The API method GetQueuesOfForms has been corrected. (140208-000043, TFS-9315)
Fix for Kodak brand NGenuity 9125DC scanners to prevent the Scan module from hanging on unidentified forms. (131025-000024)
The feature to automatically show front and back pages in Scan has been restored. (130725-000062, TFS-7507)
Classic API object Forms.GetFieldImage no longer returns values when the field image was empty (affected other methods as well). (131031-000074, TFS-8672)
ScanBatchDialogShow and ScanBatchDialogClosed now show the correct batch number. (131105-000090, TFS-8743)
The Transfer job description is no longer preset to move image files. (130916-000087, TFS-8163, TFS-8172)
A new flag, BatchNumberTableGlobal=1, has been added to the [Options] section in Ehlocal.ini to make FORMS use only one global batch counter. (130402-000089, TFS-6841)
All selectable barcode types are now visible when defining a barcode type. (130430-000121, TFS-6821)
Error handling has been improved in situations when recognition fields are located outside of the form boundaries. (130104-000012, TFS-5776)
XML Transfer can now handle batch numbers higher than 32767. (130408-000056, TFS-6559)
Verify no longer crashes while confirming fields. (121030-000061, TFS-5921)
Rotated image files in Interpret are no longer saved in negative color when the form definition is defined in color or gray scale and the input is a multi-page file. (130116-000020, TFS-5814)
Scan: Image files with the same file name were generated from the same scanner even though CheckLastFileName=1. This is now fixed. (130214-000083, TFS6081)
Transfer: When exporting sets to PDF files, each set now contains only one PDF file. (121002-000020, 110120-000048, TFS5136 (TR024663, TR024624, TR024621))
Installation
Note: This is not a full installation of ReadSoft FORMS 5-3 SP4. The software (including the correct service pack) must already be successfully installed before you install this hotfix.
To install the hotfix, run the self-extracting FORMS 5-3 SP4 HF 8.msp file. A number of files are replaced, and old copies are saved so that you can uninstall this hotfix and restore your previous installation if necessary.
To uninstall the hotfix:
Open Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel, and s elect View installed updates .
In the list of programs installed on the PC, select this hotfix, and click Remove .
All files that were replaced during installation are restored from the backup directory, restoring your FORMS installation to its former build number.
