Log in to Kapplets

Kapplets security model is role-based similar to one in the Management Console. A user must be added to one or more groups before logging in to Kapplets. See Kapplets User Roles for more information.

  1. If you have not done so, create users and groups in Management Console. Add users to groups and assign proper privileges. See Users & groups for details.
  2. Log in to Kapplets using the superuser credentials (default: name - admin, password - admin) and switch to the "User groups" tab.
  3. Create groups with exactly the same names as groups in Management Console by clicking the Add button. Assign privileges to each of the created groups.

Now Management Console users can log in to Kapplets using their Management Console credentials. A user and the group this user belongs to are synchronized with Kapplets users and groups when the user tries to log in to Kapplets.

If you have not created groups in Kapplets, but want to grant access to Kapplets to some users, let the users try to log in to Kapplets first. When new users log in to Kapplets, access is denied, but new user accounts are created in Kapplets. Once the user accounts are created, an administrator can assign appropriate rights to created users and the users can log in to Kapplets.
