System Requirements

The following are the minimum requirements to install and run Power PDF 3.1:

• A computer with an Intel® Pentium® 4 or higher processor (or equivalent)

• Supported operating systems:

• • Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit editions)

  • Windows 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit Editions)

  • Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit Editions) with Service Pack 1

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 with SP1, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019  (Citrix, AD, WTS) (applies to Power PDF Advanced Volume only)

• 512 MB of memory (RAM), 1 GB recommended

• 700 MB of free hard disk space for application files plus 50 MB working space during installation

• SVGA monitor with 256 colors, but preferably 16-bit color and 800x600 pixel resolution

• Sound card is optionally required for using the Read Aloud feature

• Windows-compatible pointing device

• CD-ROM drive or web access for installation

• Web access needed for product registration, activation, and obtaining live updates for the program.

• To use EMC Documentum or Evernote connectors you need Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2. If it is not detected, it is installed with the product.

• NetDocuments connector requires ndOffice 1.8, 1.9 (in Admin mode) or 2.0 or higher installed. (Applies to Power PDF Advanced only.)

• Optionally, Jaws 2019 required for screen reading functions.

Note

Performance and speed will be enhanced if your computer’s processor, memory, and available disk space exceed minimum requirements. This is especially true when converting very large color PDF files.

• Conversions of XPS documents into editable formats and PDF-XPS do not require having any additional component installed on the computer.
• Performance and speed will be enhanced if your computer’s processor, memory, and available disk space exceed minimum requirements. This is especially true when converting very large color PDF files. Hyper-thread enabled or multi-processor systems can deliver better performance.
• Conversion to different editable formats can be performed whether or not the target applications are installed on your system. However, to use the results, you need the applications associated to the target file types you want to use.
• To get full PDF Portfolio support, a Flash player component has to be installed on the computer.
• Internet browser support for creating, viewing and unlocking PDF files is provided in Internet Explorer (8 to 11) and in Google Chrome via a downloaded app. PDF file unlocking is available in Mozilla Firefox (up to version 49).
• Using Power PDF features in Microsoft Office applications requires a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010 (SP2), 2013 (SP1), 2016 or 2019.
• Cloud-based storage can be accessed with Evernote.
• The Advanced Edition is delivered with support of LexisNexis® CaseMap® 12.

Document Management System support in the Advanced Edition

• Microsoft® SharePoint Server 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, and Microsoft Office 365

• eDOCS DM (former Hummingbird Enterprise™) 5.3.1, 10, and 16.3

Power PDF supports eDOCS systems  if a DM Extensions API is installed and configured on the client machine. The product is also integrated into Windows Explorer DM Extension.

• iManage® Work 9.3, 9.5, 10.1 and 10.2

Power PDF supports iManage WorkSite systems if DeskSite 9.0 or 9.3, or FileSite 9.0 or 9.3 is installed and configured on the client machine. The product is also integrated into DeskSite and FileSite clients. The Kofax implementation warns if a requested document is checked out to another user.

• OpenText Enterprise Connect 10.5, 16

Supports OpenText Content Server through Enterprise Connect if the  Enterprise Connect framework 10.5, 16 or higher is installed and configured on the machine

• NetDocuments SaaS cloud-based storage.

Save files to this web-based storage facility, providing Software as a Service (SaaS).

• Worldox® GX3 and GX4

• EMC2® Documentum 7.1,  6.7

Power PDF supports EMC2 Documentum if a DFC 6.5 client is installed and configured on the client machine.

• Xerox DocuShare 7.1

Power PDF supports Interwoven Xerox DocuShare if Xerox DocuShare Client is installed and configured on the client machine.

• OnBase 17, 18

To work with Hyland's OnBase from Power PDF the 'Integration for Nuance PDF Products' module must be licensed on the OnBase server.

• iManage 10.1, 10.2, Cloud

• HPE RM 8.3, HPE CM 9.1

HPE RM is supported if their desktop application is installed on the client machine.
