There are several ways to start the program:
From the Start menu, select All Programs > Kofax Power PDF > Power PDF. Then to open a PDF file, click the Open button or select Open from the File menu and select a file. If you select more than one PDF file, they will be opened in separate windows. If you select Microsoft Office files (*.doc, * docx, *.rtf, *.xls, * xlsx,*.pptx), or XPS files, they will be converted immediately to PDF files, and will be displayed in separate windows. The source files stay intact.
Click the program icon (shown above) on the desktop or the taskbar if you placed it there, then proceed as described above.
Double-click on a PDF file: If you choose Power PDF as the default PDF viewer when prompted, you can double-click on a PDF file to start the program and load the selected PDF file. If Power PDF is not your default PDF viewer, right-click a PDF file and select Open With > Kofax Power PDF.
Browse PDF files on a Web Server: If you choose Power PDF as the default PDF viewer when prompted, click any PDF URL on a Web page to open the PDF file in the program.
Drag-and-drop files: You can drag-and-drop PDF files onto the Power PDF program window to have them opened. You can also drag-and-drop documents (*.doc, *.txt), Excel sheets (*.xls, *. xlsx), PowerPoint slides (*.pptx) and XPS files to have them converted, leaving the source files intact.
Right-click one or more PDF or Office files in Windows Explorer or on the desktop. Select to create, combine, overlay or package files using the shortcut menu, then select a profile.
From a Windows jump list: Click the program icon to start Power PDF or right-click to open a recently opened PDF file. You can also choose to create a PDF from your scanner or from another file (PDF Create) and also convert a PDF file to an editable format (PDF Convert).
