Home Ribbon in Advanced Edit Mode
Go to Edit > Convert > Convert to editable (or Advanced Editor) to turn on Advanced Edit mode, which offers different ribbons to support document editing rather than reviewing.

The Home ribbon in Advanced Mode consists of the following groups:
Text group
Provides basic controls for font, color, and alignment settings of the selected text, offers all commands of the Font Group, and adds the following:
- Increases text size.
- Shrink Font Decreases text size.
- Edit Font Displays the Font dialog with controls for font, effects and character spacing.
- Displays the Styles panel with default styles. Select All styles in the Show list at the bottom of the panel to display all available styles.
- Text Highlight Color Represents the highlight color of the text selection. Click the arrow to drop down the color palette with theme colors and standard colors. Select a color, or click More Colors to open the Colors dialog box featuring advanced palettes and a color picker..
- Bullets Turns the current paragraph bulleted.
- Turns the current paragraph numbered.
- Multilevel List Displays the Bullets / Numbering dialog, which offers templates for bulleted, numbered and multilevel lists and an editor to define new multilevel list templates.
- Decrease Indent Decreases paragraph indent.
- Increase Indent Increases paragraph indent.
Paragraph group
Provides controls for alignment settings of the selected paragraph(s).
- Displays the Paragraph dialog box with the following controls:

- Alignment Select from Left, Right, Centered, Justified or Distributed.
- Outline level Select Body text or any numbered level to define the horizontal position of the paragraph in the multilevel list structure.
- Left Specify the left indent in the current measurement unit.
- Right Specify the right indent in the current measurement unit.
- Special Select the indentation style (None, First line, Hanging).
- Value Specify the degree of indentation regarding Special (see above) in the current measurement unit.
- Before Specify spacing before paragraph in the current measurement unit.
- After Specify spacing after paragraph in the current measurement unit.
- Line Spacing Select line spacing from the list of predefined values.
- Value Specify a rate to apply to line spacing. For example, 1.2 results in a line spacing 20% above the default
- Clear this to ignore document grid.
- Text alignment Select vertical alignment.
- Tabs Click Tabs to display the Tabs dialog box and define tab positions and alignments.
- Alignment Click the arrow, then select from Left, Right, Centered, or Justified.
- Line Spacing Click the arrow, then select line spacing from the list of predefined values.
- Click to distribute the characters horizontally from margin to margin, counting with indentation.
- Borders and Shading Click to display the Borders and Shading dialog box.
Guides group
- Alignment Click the arrow to drop down grid and guide options:

- Ruler Show or hide horizontal and vertical ruler bars around the Document Panel.
- Alignment Show or hide character baselines.
- View Grid Show or hide grid.
- Snap to Grid Select to force objects to stick with the grid.
Page Layout group
- Columns Click the arrow, then select the number of columns, or select More Columns to show the Columns dialog box and specify custom widths and spacings.
- Paper Size Click the arrow, then select from a list of typical paper sizes, or select More Paper Sizes to show the Page Setup dialog box and specify page width and height.
- Text Direction Click the arrow, then select from a list of most common text directions, or select Text Direction Options to show the Text Direction dialog box with preview.
Search group
This group has a single Find & Replace button, click to display the Find and Replace dialog box.
Close
This group has a single Close Advanced Editor button, click to return to review mode. A confirmation dialog box appears with an option to finalize the content.
