Save As (File)
To start the Save As dialog box in the File menu click Save As, and then click Browse.
The Save As dialog box works as the standard Windows Save As dialog box, and adds a few Power PDF-specific functions:
- File name The standard text box to edit file name. Click the arrow on its right to drop down the list of latest file names used.
- Save as type The document can be saved in various formats:

- PDF Files Standard PDF format. For details on PDF formats see PDF Versions.
- PDF/A Highly compatible PDF/A standard. Click Settings to start the Save As PDF/A Settings dialog box, then select the PDF/A substandard for compliance test.
- PDF/X PDF/X is used in digital printing and proofing. Click Settings to select PDF/X compliance check type and Color Profile.
- PDF/E PDF/E is used in engineering.
- XPS Document Microsoft XPS document format is used in printing. Click Settings to start the XML Conversion Settings dialog, where you may require to use the Open XML format (optional). For more details on XPS support in Power PDF product family, see XPS File Support.
- Word Document Microsoft Word document (.doc, .docx). Click Settings to start the Document Conversion Settings dialog box, and specify standard document processing options (e.g. OCR language, layout, graphics resolution) and Office 2007/2010 output (optional).
- Word Form Microsoft Word form document (.doc, .docx). Click Settings to start the Form Conversion Settings dialog box, and specify standard document and form processing options and Office 2007/2010 output (optional).
- Excel Spreadsheet Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet (.xls, .xlsx). Click Settings to start the Spreadsheet Conversion Settings dialog box, and specify standard document and spreadsheet options and Office 2007/2010 output (optional).
- PowerPoint Presentation Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation (.pptx). Click Settings to start the Document Conversion Settings dialog box, and specify standard document processing options.
- WordPerfect Document Corel WordPerfect document (.wpd). Click Settings to start the Document Conversion Settings dialog box, and specify standard document processing options.
- MRC PDF Document PDF using MRC for better image compression. Click Settings to set the compression level in the MRC PDF Conversion Settings dialog box.
- Searchable PDF Document PDF containing searchable textual information. Click Settings to set the compression level in the Searchable PDF Conversion Settings dialog box.
- Searchable MRC PDF Document PDF using MRC for better image compression and containing searchable textual information. Click Settings to set the compression level and OCR language in the Searchable MRC PDF Conversion Settings dialog box.
- Grayscale PDF Document PDF with gray shades only.
- Multipage TIFF TIFF bitmap with multiple pages. Click Settings to set compression, resolution and color options.
- PDF to text (Simple) Pure, unformatted text (.txt).
- PDF to text (Unicode) (Power PDF Advanced only) Pure Unicode text. Click Settings to configure the handling of OCR, language, image-only pages, non-standard encoded pages, headers and footers for Unicode text output.
- JPEG Files JPEG bitmap. Click Settings to set compression, resolution, and color options.
- JPEG2000 Files Use JPEG2000 bitmap format for more efficient compression.
- PNG Files PNG bitmap. Click Settings to set compression, resolution, interlace, filtering and color options.
- TIFF Files TIFF bitmap. Click Settings to set compression, resolution and color options.
- Save to DMS Click the arrow to open the list of available Document Management Systems (DMS). For more details on DMS, see DMS overview.
