Creating one PDF per File

You can create separate PDF files for each source file. Compile a file list in Create Assistant or select the files in Windows Explorer.

 

To create one PDF per file from Power PDF without the Assistant

  1. Click New in the File menu, and choose From Files.  

  2. Select Direct Creation from Files in the drop-down list.

  3. Select one or more files in the Open dialog box.

Current settings are used, as defined in the Kofax PDF Create Properties dialog box that you can access through File > Print > Properties. In this case, profiles are not available. Each file is saved to a separate PDF each it its own document window.

 

To create one PDF per file from Power PDF with the Assistant

  1. Click New in the File ribbon and choose From Files.

  2. Select Create Multiple Files  from the drop-down list.

  3. add icon
    Use Add to build up a file list in the Create PDF dialog box.

  4. assemble icon
    The Assemble selection box should already display Create a PDF for each input document.

  5. profile icon
    Select a profile in the Profile selection box and click Profiles.

  6. Modify settings as desired. Place a checkmark at Document Settings and click the Edit button to define document settings.

  7.  PDF Create icon
    Click the Start Creation tool. Saving will be performed according to the current destination settings. The resulting PDF files will be saved either in the source folder, or in a predefined folder, or the Save As dialog box will appear.

  8. The Create PDF Info dialog box displays status info on the creation process and a list of the resulting PDF files with file name, path, file type and date of creation. Click Back to return to the Create PDF dialog box, then close it.

Tip

Click a resulting PDF file in the Create PDF Info dialog box to display it.

 

To create one PDF per file using the Create Assistant from the Start menu

  1. Open Create Assistant from the Windows Start menu.

  2. Build up a file list.

  3. Follow the instructions described above under points 4 - 7.

    After starting PDF creation, the Print Info dialog box will appear.

To create one PDF per file using the Windows Explorer shortcut menu

  1. Right-click two or more source files in Windows Explorer or on your desktop.

  2. Select Create PDF from file and then a profile from the shortcut menu.

  3. Check the target. The last shortcut menu item displays the currently selected target or the saving instruction Query file name. If Query file name is displayed, the Save As dialog box will appear after PDF creation where you can save the resulting PDF files.

To create one PDF per file using drag-and-drop

Drag-and-drop multiple source files into the program window.

Each source file will be converted to PDF, and can be saved to a separate PDF. Use Save or Save As to save the resulting PDF file. Each created PDF is displayed in its own document window.
